I have also tested the MAME20 cores, and the compatibility is nowhere near that of MAME2003. I can do a list of games I've tested that don't work. If a game is not listed here, I have either not tested it, or it isn't working (or it is working and is rubbish). I use a USB setup, so I have all three cores installed for the widest compatibility. For example, most of the NEO-GEO (most - not all) will work with the MAME 2003 and FBA2012 cores with the right BIOS. The games listed below work on the core designated, but may work on others. I use the FBA2016 core for NEO-GEO and CAPCOM CPS3 games, and MAME2003 for CAPCOM CPS2.
